How do I book a beach hut?
Click on “Beach Hut Hire” from the main menu, choose your hut, select your dates, and click Book Now.
You’ll be taken to your basket where you can enter any discount or gift voucher codes (in capitals). You’ll then create an account and proceed to secure checkout using Google Pay, credit card, or debit card.
A confirmation email will be sent once your booking is complete.
Where are your huts located?
All huts are located on Southcliff Promenade, Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex CO14 8EJ.

From the pier, walk along the promenade, around the bend, past May’s Boardwalk Café — the huts are located along this stretch.
When will I receive my booking information?
- Bookings made 7+ days in advance: confirmation email + pre-arrival email 1 week before
- Bookings made within 7 days: all details sent in your confirmation email

How do I access the hut?
Access is via a key safe located on the side of the hut.
Your code will be sent by email before your booking.
What is the maximum capacity?
Each hut accommodates 6–8 guests (in and around the hut).
What are your opening months?
End of March to end of September.
What are your arrival and departure times?
- May–August: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- September: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Overnight stays are not permitted.
Are the huts front row?
Yes — all huts are front-row on the promenade.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes — dogs are welcome. Southcliff beach is dog-friendly all year round.
Please clean up after your dog and do not leave them unattended.
What’s included in the huts?
- Table and chairs
- Crockery, glasses, cutlery
- Tea, coffee, sugar and milk sachets
- Salt, vinegar and ketchup
- Gas stove and kettle
- Cooking pot and pan
- Beach toys (limited)
- Parasol
- Fire blanket and first aid kit
- Cleaning equipment
Is there electricity or water?
- No electricity or refrigeration
- Water taps at the end of each row
- Toilets located along the promenade near the pier
Can I bring a BBQ?
No — BBQs are not permitted in or around the huts.
Do I need to clean before leaving?
Yes — please leave the hut clean, tidy, and swept out.
What if I lose the key?
Please contact us immediately. You will be responsible for replacement costs.

Terms & Conditions
Booking & Payment
- Full payment is required at the time of booking
- Bookings are non-refundable except in extreme circumstances (see below)
If a hut becomes unsafe due to severe weather, we will offer an alternative or refund.
Cancellations
- More than 14 days’ notice: refund minus £20
- Less than 14 days: non-refundable
- Bookings are non-transferable
Use of the Hut
- Maximum of 8 people per hut
- A responsible adult (18+) must be present
- Please respect neighbours and keep noise to a minimum
Safety & Rules
- No smoking inside the hut
- No BBQs or frying
- Gas must be turned off after use
- Do not leave stoves unattended
Responsibility
- Guests are responsible for personal belongings
- Any damage or breakages must be reported
- Costs for repairs/replacements will be charged
Departure
- Leave the hut clean and tidy
- Return the key to the key safe
- Lock and secure all bolts
- Vacate by 5pm/6pm depending on season
Legal
This agreement is governed by the laws of England.
Cancellation Policy (Summary)
We do not offer refunds due to bad weather.

- Less than 14 days: no refund
- No date changes available
